In times of great economic challenges, the Vienna Business Agency wants to set an example for entrepreneurship in Vienna. 23 success stories are told from innovative production companies, designers, craft businesses to internationally active corporations. The digital Advent calendar will be played out until Christmas on online channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook and on the website of the Vienna Business Agency and underlines the strength and breadth of the business location.
“Especially in difficult times, it is very important to show that there is a lot that works well, that everyone sticks together and looks forward. With this Advent calendar, we are sending a signal that there are many powerful companies in Vienna and giving them a digital stage. And we are also showing that we will continue to support them with all our might.”

Vienna as Austria’s economic engine
Despite the economic downturn, Vienna remains Austria’s economic engine. Over 151,000 companies in Vienna currently create around 930,000 jobs. A new record number of company start-ups was also recorded this year and demand for funding from the Vienna Business Agency increased by 38 percent in the first half of 2024. The preliminary settlement balance shows Vienna’s continued high attractiveness for international companies: from January to October 2024, 15 percent more international companies settled in Vienna than in the previous year.
