“Animal Moments” with Maggie Entenfellner (4 p.m.):
Maggie Entenfellner presents “animal moments” in the ORF animal magazine. At the start she is a guest of fashion expert Martina Reuter and her three guinea pigs. The magazine also accompanies bed bug detection dog Konrad in his work, looks at how the broken relationship of trust between horse and rider can be restored, and asks what you do if you find abandoned wild baby babies. Maggie Entenfellner once again presents animals that are looking for a new home – this time from the animal shelter in Vösendorf. And the audience is in demand again in the new episodes – in the “The Animal of You” section, the viewers’ favorites are the stars at the end of each program. All information about this can be found at extra.ORF.at.
“Nature in the Garden” – Karl Ploberger gives tips for green thumbs (5:30 p.m.):
In the new season of the popular ORF gardening show, Karl Ploberger is introducing a new section – “The Plant of the Week” focuses on a special plant every week with all its special features and needs. In the opening episode, Karl Ploberger also presents an exotic garden in Burgenland, shows how you can outwit climate change while gardening, and herb witch Uschi Zezelitsch introduces the turmeric plant. From April 20th, the new episodes will also be on 3sat’s program on Saturdays at 3:05 p.m. and the following Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. There will be even more gardening fun with Karl Ploberger on April 23rd at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 2 with “Paradise in the Distance: Sicily – Blossoms, Beach and Sea”.
“Back to nature” – with Maggie Entenfellner we go to Jennersdorf in Burgenland (5:55 p.m.):
At the start of the new season, Maggie Entenfellner visits Jennersdorf in southern Burgenland. The sunny region is a hub for all kinds of encounters: Here Manfred Ploi gives new life to old iron. He turns scrap metal into art – and Maggie gets to lend a hand. Real natural works of art are created by florist Monika Krois – from everything the season has to offer. And chef Michael Kahr brings the nature of southern Burgenland to the plate. This time he’s cooking with an almost forgotten vegetable: the Jerusalem artichoke tuber.
