Zwander: “Controlling Provincial Councilor Hergovich is putting a stop to pointless spending, cronyism and wasting money!”

Lower accompanying costs for parents of sick children, higher heating subsidies and support benefits for firefighters who have had an accident were implemented

St. Pölten (OTS) Regional Control Councilor Sven Hergovich and a new team have been at the helm of the state party for a little over a year. SPÖ Lower Austria regional manager Wolfgang Zwander looks back on an eventful twelve months: “Many new directions have been set in the state and the party. Black-Blue has formed a collaboration in which party interests are clearly in the foreground, while we are clearly in a coalition with the people of Lower Austria.”

The SPÖ NÖ has made it its mission to address the challenges facing people and to provide concrete suggestions for improvement, says Zwander: “So that, for example, house builders don’t have to worry about their own homes because of high interest rates, while Austria’s banks multiply their profits. Sven Hergovich suggested the interest price cap. We don’t understand that EVN is buying new luxury items and the state governor is throwing parties in Kitzbühel while people can no longer afford energy prices and non-profit housing construction is de facto stopped.”

When people can no longer afford a warm room, Sven Hergovich advocates and enforces a higher heating subsidy of 225 euros. If parents of sick children are asked to pay excessively for accompanying costs, Hergovich is fighting for a lower burden. And when firefighters who put out fires for all of us every day, rescue people from crashed cars, etc. themselves have accidents, we fight for more support services. “Control Regional Councilor Sven Hergovich developed and implemented all of this for the people of Lower Austria this year,” notes Zwander proudly.

After months of campaigning, Black and Blue also gave in on the issue of housing, said Zwander: “Here too, we contributed to movement. Still far too little, but at least a first step.” In Lower Austria, one finds the fact that one has the highest tax revenue of all federal states, but this is often not matched by corresponding performance, Zwander can no longer see the black-blue inaction: “There is much to do:
in the health sector, in public transport, in kindergartens, in supporting communities, in the area of ’affordable housing’ and much more.
So the question remains: where is all the money? In which societies and clubs does it seep away? In any case, it doesn’t have enough impact on citizens!”

“Controlling State Councilor Sven Hergovich is taking a very close look at the government proposals of the black-blue coalition and is thus curbing pointless spending, frivolity and waste of money,” Zwander emphasizes at the same time at the same time the offer of cooperation for concrete improvements for the people in the country: “We are a people’s party of the broad center that wants to be a political umbrella for the vast majority of our society. We deal with topics that are neglected in black and blue.”
