The world’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer Yutong Bus (SHA:600066) has delivered 500 units of its recently launched V6 (Van 6) light trucks to Latin America, marking an important milestone in Yutong’s strategic roadmap in the Latin American market.

Customized specifically for the Latin American market, the model combines Yutong Bus’s innovative public transportation technologies and advanced manufacturing techniques with comprehensive consideration of passengers’ and drivers’ experiences. The V6 vans meet the diverse requirements for customized passenger transport, receiving business guests and commuting in the tourism sector to create added value for customers.
The lifespan of the V6 vans has been significantly extended with an electrophoretic zirconium coating that ensures the bodywork remains free of structural corrosion for 20 years. Yutong Bus has completed the first 20-year corrosion protection test for the entire vehicle, including under extreme working conditions – an industry first.
In addition, the V6 vans have completed the industry’s first 2 million kilometer operational test. Reliability testing began in 2023 and has successfully completed 63,000 km of enhanced road testing, with the entire vehicle structure remaining intact and no durable parts and components being replaced.
Yutong has also developed a seat design in which the passenger seat brackets are fixed into the carrier to meet the dynamic impact resistance and damage requirements at 50 km/h. The body is made of more than 55% high-strength steel, and the key components are made of thermoformed ultra-high-strength steel with a tensile strength of up to 1,500 MPa, which significantly improves the safety level.
The V6’s monitoring system is equipped with multiple cameras that record the condition of the road and the driver’s behavior, as well as step sensors that record and store the road in front of the vehicle, the driving area and the accelerator pedal in real time. It also offers a stable and smooth ride and driving experience with sufficient width, height and seat pitches for up to 20 seats, which can be flexibly adjusted.
In the future, Yutong Bus will launch the series of pure electric buses. The aim is to promote technological innovation and the adaptation of services in the region.
