The E11 Pro, the battery-electric flagship model from Yutong Bus (SHA:600066), demonstrated its unsurpassed safety and performance in extreme heat and wind in an endurance test a week ago. The world’s leading e-mobility solution was subjected to maximum stress due to extremely adverse environmental conditions.
To address the public’s concerns about the safety of electric vehicle batteries in scorching heat and in terms of range and energy efficiency, Yutong Bus E11 Pro conducted two high-temperature tests. With an initial interior temperature of 53.6°C, the bus’s advanced climate control system cooled the cabin to a comfortable 23.6°C in just 27 minutes. During a 113 kilometer round trip, the bus only consumed 0.74 kWh/km, confirming the vehicle’s long range even in extreme heat.
Cutting-edge technology for extreme environments
The E11 PRO has an energy-efficient, all-electric climate control system with a cooling capacity of 38,000 Kcal/h, which increases as outside temperatures rise. A specially designed air curtain solution creates an air seal for the center door when it is opened, preventing warm air from entering and cool air from escaping, further reducing energy consumption.
The vehicle’s body is made of dark gray, fully enclosed hollow glass panels, the design of which ensures excellent heat management and effective noise insulation. Yutong’s high-security battery is equipped with the proprietary YESS battery protection solution and features a multi-layer fireproof and heat-insulating design that can withstand temperatures up to 1300°C for two hours. With its advanced liquid cooling plate system that doubles the cooling rate compared to natural cooling and features condensation and sludge protection, the bus is suitable for both high temperatures and dusty road conditions.
