Young businesses, rural youth and young industry are calling for the 2024 EU elections – Europe needs your vote!

The new European Parliament will be elected on June 9th – it is all the more important that the young generation also takes part in the election and actively shapes the future

Vienna (OTS) The Young Economy, Rural Youth and Young Industry call on all citizens eligible to vote, and especially the young generation, to take part in the upcoming European elections on June 9, 2024. At a time when the European Union is facing a variety of challenges, it is more important than ever to raise your own voice and play an active role in shaping our common future.

Since its founding, the European Union has been a unique political and economic alliance that ensures peace, stability and prosperity on our continent. The largest internal market in the world enables the free movement of people, goods, services and capital. This creates jobs, promotes economic growth and offers citizens a wide range of opportunities. Programs like “Erasmus+” are models of success and enable young people to gain valuable experience abroad.

Nevertheless, Europe faces a multitude of challenges. In order to continue the European success story, from the point of view of the young social partner organizations, important future tasks must be implemented quickly: In addition to the further deepening of the internal market, these include an active and diversified trade policy. The security and competitiveness of the future energy supply are also of central importance. Building on this, industrial and innovation policy must also be set in order to ensure the competitiveness of the European industrial and SME landscape. All of this is taking place under the auspices of rapidly developing demographic change, which will have a significant impact on the labor and skilled labor supply in Europe. Securing Europe’s workforce potential plays just as important a role as actively recruiting international skilled workers. In order for all the tasks to be financed within a budgetary responsible framework, the Capital Markets Union also needs to be further developed in an efficiently regulated manner. This is the only way we will be able to give young people a fair future in a common Europe, emphasize Young Business, Rural Youth and Young Industry in a joint statement.

A clear appeal to the young generation to take part in the election

The European elections are the opportunity to have a direct influence on the future of the European Union. Voting means having a say – on June 9th, young people in Austria, including many first-time voters, will have the opportunity to elect a European Parliament that represents their interests and advocates for the issues that are important to the young generation .

The Young Economy, Rural Youth and Young Industry appeal to all young people to make use of their right to vote. Together, the young generation can positively shape the future of Europe. (PWK216/DK)
