WorldMediaFestivals 2024: OKIDOKI format “The Miracle DU” receives the “intermedia-globe GOLD” award

Vienna (OTS) The “OKIDOKI” children’s program is award-winning! Another ORF production was honored at the WorldMediaFestivals 2024. In the “Children & Youth: Edutainment Ages 5-10” category, the “intermedia-globe GOLD” award went to the “OKIDOKI” format “Das Wunder DU”, which has been broadcast on ORF 1 and on ORF KIDS since autumn 2023 In a total of 13 episodes, it takes the audience on a journey of discovery to – and even into – the human body. After “Fully strong”, “Trickfabrik”, “7 Wonders”, “ABC Bear”, “That’s exactly how it works”, “BANG GENIAL”, “Great Animals”, “Schmatzo – Cooking with WOW”, “Museum AHA”, “ 1000 Tricks” and “Mega Moment”, this is the twelfth award for an ORF children’s format at the WorldMediaFestivals.

“The Miracle DU”: Episodes 9 to 13 from May 4th on Saturdays at 9:45 a.m. on ORF 1

Pediatric surgeon Omar Sarsam and OKIDOKI presenter Melanie Flicker present exciting facts and experiments in new episodes on Saturdays at 9.45 a.m. on ORF 1 – and then on demand on kids.ORF.at – and answer the questions from the children’s advice team: Answered episode on May 4th 9 on the topic of “digestion” the questions are how much saliva we produce in a year, how often we swallow in a day and whether you can drink upside down. On May 11th, episode 10 will be dedicated to “sleep” and the questions of what happens if we don’t sleep at all for a day and why we dream. On May 18th, episode 11 is all about “feeling”: What is a pain memory? Can we deceive our senses? And how does Braille work? On May 25th, episode 12 shows what it actually looks like in our “ears” and why we only have two of them. Finally, the “highlights” of the season can be seen on June 1st in episode 13: The children’s council votes on which of all the miracles of our body is the most amazing and is spoiled for choice – between the earwax, the uniqueness of the iris, the pumping power of the heart and the tiny camera that traveled through Omar Sarsam’s digestive tract.

In each episode of “The Miracle DU,” Omar Sarsam and Melanie Flicker focus on a topic that is demonstrated and explained using various examples, studies and tests. Topics include Muscles, Breathing, Heart, Skin, Mouth, Vision, Bones, Brain, Digestion, Sleep, Feeling, and Ears. , and finally there is a “highlights” program. The idea, concept and script for “Das Wunder DU” come from Thomas Brezina. The 15-minute episodes of Tower10 were produced on behalf of ORF and in co-production with ZDF.
