Focus week from March 3rd to 9th, 2024 in all ORF Vorarlberg media

Vienna (OTS) March 8, 2024 is International Women’s Day, when the focus is on equal rights for women. On the occasion of this day, ORF Vorarlberg (all information about ORF’s major focus is available at presse.ORF.at) will be highlighting different perspectives on the socially important topics of gender equality and diversity in all of its media during a focus week from March 3rd to 9th. On radio, TV, online and social media, ORF Vorarlberg’s editors explore the question of how society, the economy and people benefit from equal opportunities.

Discussion on ORF Radio Vorarlberg

In the radio discussion studio, led by ORF Vorarlberg editor Pia Lenz, we will discuss why a Women’s Day is needed in 2024, whether role models in Vorarlberg are actually outdated, what a positive image of the future could look like and what a diverse language can contribute to equality. The discussion will be broadcast on ORF Radio Vorarlberg on March 8th at 8 p.m. and will be available on sound.ORF.at for 30 days afterwards.

Portraits of women and equality in “Vorarlberg today”

The daily TV magazine “Vorarlberg today” (7 p.m., ORF 2 V) portrays the winner of the Vorarlberg Women’s Prize, is dedicated to the careers of female politicians in Vorarlberg, asks how clichés, advertising and gender are related, shows examples of successful female entrepreneurs in Vorarlberg and asks the people of Vorarlberg how they feel about the issue of equality. On March 8th, International Women’s Day, Christiane Schwald-Pösel and Thomas Haschberger will moderate “Vorarlberg Today” as a pair to show that equality concerns both genders.

Strong women in an interview

In the “Views” on ORF Radio Vorarlberg on March 3rd at 11 a.m., presenter Ulli von Delft talks to social worker Brigitte Stadelmann, head of the “amazoneZENTRUM” in Bregenz, about the difficulties of young people who do not fit into traditional role models and what what society can do to promote benevolent coexistence.

On March 4th at 1 p.m. in “News at Neustädter” Matthias Neustädter will discuss with gender expert Sabine Juffinger what has already been achieved in the area of ​​equality. All listeners are invited to take part in this live broadcast.

The director and author Barbara Herold will be a guest on ORF Radio Vorarlberg on March 6th at 8 p.m. in “Talk Culture” and will shed light on her feminist focus and her ongoing engagement with gender-specific issues with ORF culture editor Annette Raschner. The show can be listened to as a podcast for six months at sound.ORF.at/podcast/vbg.

On March 9th, the sociologist and economist Uta Meier-Gräwe will be Georg Fabjan’s guest in “Focus – Topics for Life” at 1 p.m. and will talk about care work and the “caring cities” model.

During this focus week, ORF Radio Vorarlberg’s other program also focuses on the various topics of gender equality and brings women and their stories in front of the microphone.

International Women’s Week takes place online at ORF Vorarlberg at vorarlberg.ORF.at. There are reports and information to read and review here. Among other things, it is about the transparency of salary differences between men and women. On Instagram (orfvorarlberg) and Facebook (ORF Vorarlberg), the biggest myths about gender differences in social media are being cleared up during International Women’s Week.
