Wien welcomes woom
Vienna (OTS) – The international children’s and youth bicycle manufacturer woom opens its new headquarters on Muthgasse in Vienna’s 19th district. The company is returning to the city where the woom success story began in a garage over 10 years ago.
woom moved into its new headquarters on Muthgasse in Vienna-Döbling at the end of February. The bicycle expert’s new headquarters offers the approximately 160 woomsters an inspiring place for creativity, innovation and collaboration. The colors and levels of the new office represent the company’s brand values: “Joy”, “Responsibility” and “Courage” – i.e. joy, responsibility and courage. Strong colors in red, yellow, blue and green reflect the brand’s dynamism and joie de vivre. An open, bright office concept with flexible office furniture, zones for the departments and a “shared desk” policy promote cross-departmental work. The office is also sustainably designed, environmentally friendly, dog-friendly and barrier-free. Of course, the office is also accessible by bike optimized.
City of Vienna welcomes woom in Vienna
City Councilor for Economic Affairs Peter Hanke underlines the importance of internationally active companies that develop new things for Vienna as a business location. “I am happy that woom has returned to Vienna. This decision underlines that innovative companies and founders find the conditions they need for their economic success in Vienna – from sustainable infrastructure to the available skilled workers. Companies like woom combine lifestyle with climate protection and thus make a valuable contribution to the further development of Vienna as a business location and to achieving climate neutrality
“, says City Councilor for Economic Affairs Peter Hanke.
On the occasion of the opening of the new headquarters, Gerhard Hirczi, Managing Director of the Vienna Business Agency, paid a visit to the international children’s and youth bicycle expert. “As the city’s location agency, we support the diversity of Vienna’s economy with appropriate support programs and offers – from local businesses to medium-sized manufacturing companies to imaginative start-ups or technology giants. The fact that the relocation of woom’s headquarters to Vienna was supported by the Vienna Business Agency shows how important suitable funding offers are for the further development of the business location
“, so Hirczi.
Back to the roots
For woom, the move to Vienna is a return to the place where the company’s history began more than 10 years ago in a garage: two bicycle-loving fathers – industrial designer Christian Bezdeka and marketing professional Marcus Ihlenfeld – were looking for the perfect bike for their children . Since they couldn’t find it on the market, they decided to build it themselves. With low weight, timeless design, high-quality components and geometry tailored to the needs of children, woom bikes set new standards for premium children’s bikes. Within a few years woom developed from an insider tip to a market leader. Today woom is known far beyond the borders of Austria. In over 30 countries – including the USA – kids and teens are already cycling on woom bikes. In 2022 woom will break the 100 million euro sales mark. The new headquarters in Muthgasse marks another milestone in the history of woom.
