“Woodstock of brass music”: Europe’s largest brass festival from June 28th to 30th, live with a time delay on ORF III and ORF ON

Vienna (OTS) After the Vienna Danube Island Festival, the next big open-air event is on the ORF program next weekend: In cooperation with the Upper Austria regional studio, ORF III will broadcast on three days, from Friday, June 28th to Sunday, June 30th, 2024. The “Woodstock of brass music” will once again take place live and time-shifted from Ort im Innkreis – Europe’s largest brass festival with the perfect mix of swing, jazz, funk, ska, reggae and electronics, which now attracts more than 80,000 visitors.

ORF III will show this year’s concert highlights, a total of 14 stage productions, starting on Friday from 9:20 p.m. (simultaneously on ORF ON). It continues on Saturday at 6:10 p.m. with the best scenes from the highlight of the festival – the “Upper Austria Overall Game 2024” with up to 20,000 participating musicians – and then with even more broadcasts, which will also continue on Sunday from 4:55 p.m. To get you in the mood for the musical spectacle, ORF 1 will be showing “Love, Peace & Brass Music – Woodstock of Brass Music” on Thursday, June 27th at 9 p.m., a program produced by ORF Upper Austria with the most beautiful moments from previous festivals. The live productions will be supplemented by the broadcast of a service from the “Woodstock of Brass Music” on Sunday at 10 a.m. on ORF III.
The highlights of this year’s festival, which takes place from June 27th to 30th, can be seen on Saturday, September 21st at 10:45 p.m. on ORF 2 and on ORF ON.

The festival weekend starts on Friday (June 28th) with “Da Blechhauf’n” (9:20 p.m.) as Woodstock veterans, followed by the cult group with new frontwoman “Moop Mama x Älice” (10:40 p.m.), the 15-member versatile band Ensemble “Brassaranka” (12:05 a.m.) and the Balkan brass pioneers “Fanfare Ciocărlia” (1:20 a.m.).
On Saturday (June 29th) ORF III will show “The Overall Game 2024 – The Highlights” (6:10 p.m.) to get you in the mood for the best live concerts of the evening. Up to 20,000 musicians come together and play together in front of the main stage according to the motto “Love, Peace & Brass Music”. ORF III will then broadcast live, time-shifted “The Little Egerländer Cast – The Original” (6.50 p.m.), “Cuba Boarisch” (8.15 p.m.) with Cuban as well as earthy Bavarian rhythms and “Herbert Pixner & Italo Connection” (9.45 p.m.). one of the most successful representatives of new and progressive folk music. The evening ends with “The BossHoss” (11:10 p.m.), one of Germany’s most famous rock bands, as well as the seven-member exceptional formation “Viera Blech (12:35 a.m.). The last day of the large open-air festival opens on Sunday morning (June 30th) with the ecumenical “Woodstock Brass Music Service” (10 a.m.). From 4.55 p.m. it continues with energetic rock and big hits from “VoixxBradler”, followed by “Menzl XXL – The Wiesn Occupation” (6.35 p.m.) with music for all ages. In the main evening, “Folkshilfe & Woodstock Allstar Band” (8:15 p.m.) and “AUT of ORDA” (9:55 p.m.) – a congenial trio consisting of producer Daniel Fellner and musicians Paul Pizzera and Christopher Seiler – will perform as the grand finale of a rousing festival weekend consists.
