Today’s confusing statements from City Councilor Nepp are surprising. The Vienna People’s Party has been drawing attention to the issue of excessive social benefits in Vienna for years. In contrast to the FPÖ, the ÖVP presented numerous measures to curb this. “City Councilor Nepp’s statements today show once again that he has lost all connection to reality. For years we have been pointing out that the SPÖ and neos have made Vienna a real social magnet,” said club chairman of the Vienna People’s Party Markus Wölbitsch.
Nepp’s statements are particularly surprising because just yesterday the Vienna People’s Party criticized the SPÖ for its course in this matter. “We have already presented possible measures with regard to social benefits in Vienna in our action plan against youth violence published this year – Dominik Nepp’s reaction leaves only two possibilities open: either he is blustering again without any knowledge or he is incapable of making sense read,” Wölbitsch continued.
While the Vienna People’s Party has already developed measures in this case several times in the past, the FPÖ is waiting in vain for concrete proposals.
