WKO: Social security for entrepreneurs is still on the sidelines

Green economy after economic parliament horrified by lack of interest in the sometimes highly precarious situation of EPU and small entrepreneurs

No wonder that the ÖVP business association EPU is not concerned when you hear that they are denigrated as “hobby entrepreneurs”.

Sabine Jungwirth, federal spokeswoman for the Green Economy

Vienna (OTS) The economic parliament held on June 27th left a bitter aftertaste. All applications submitted by the Green Economy to improve social security for entrepreneurs in Austria were rejected by the ÖVP Economic Association.

Disinterest in the social security of entrepreneurs

The picture that emerges from voting behavior is not a new one. In its political work, the ÖVP Economic Association continues to focus exclusively on the concerns of large companies. The sometimes highly precarious situation with regard to the social security of primarily EPU and small entrepreneurs in Austria is not a priority for the officials of the ÖVP Economic Association. 60% of companies in Austria are now EPU. However, the existing social security systems do not adequately protect them.

“It’s no wonder that the ÖVP business association EPU is not concerned when you hear that they are denigrated as “hobby entrepreneurs””said Sabine Jungwirth, federal spokeswoman for the Green Economy.
