“WKO-Mahr’s demand for tax exemption for drinking money is a bad ÖVP-flatter!”

“Drinking funds are an important additional income for the employees in the catering and tourism industry, where there are already low salaries and lack of personnel. The basic tax and tax exemption for drinking funds is therefore a central free demand, but unfortunately the opposite is to be feared by the ‘loser ambulance’-namely that the SPÖ finance can use the pockets of the restaurateurs and employees. Christoph Steiner on statements by the WKO president in the current issue of the “Kronen Zeitung”.

The question also arises as to why Mahrer, as a leading ÖVP negotiator in the formation of the “system amplifier”, did not negotiate the tax exemption for drinking money into the government program: “The current tax-free upper limit between 40 and 50 euros is ridiculous anyway.
