Another 150 flights are canceled thanks to disruptive action by the vida union – 15,800 passengers affected
Vienna (OTS) – The union disruptive actions at the expense of Austrian Airlines passengers continue. The vida union and the Bord works council have again called for a works meeting on March 8, 2024 after the previous week’s action. The last company meeting only took place on March 1, 2024, and 138 flights had to be canceled. The now planned works meeting is once again met with strong criticism and incomprehension in the aviation professional group of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ).
Chairman Günther Ofner has clear words about this: “The main purpose of a works meeting is to provide information about news. The vida union should please explain to the 15,800 passengers affected by the new disruption what could have happened so important within a week that they have to inform the AUA employees and leave all passengers out in the cold in the process.” The planned works meeting is “a pure riot event”.
The aviation boss is equally clear about the ongoing KV negotiations: “The vida union should finally come to its senses and work on viable solutions. Flight cancellations due to disruptions endanger the location and thus your own jobs – to the delight of your competitors.” (PWK079/DFS)
