Vienna State Ballet dances in couture from Vienna
The two Viennese master tailors emerged as winners of a previous Austria-wide design competition: Alexandra Gogolok-Nagl, owner of her own couture workshop in Vienna Hietzing and fifth-generation master tailor, and Marlen Sabetze, who has her designer label MarS-Anigung in the sixth district has made a name for itself primarily through creative approaches, upcycling and sustainable production.
Success of Viennese fashion designers at the Opera Ball
Patrizia Markus, guild master of fashion and clothing technology at the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, expressed her delight at the success of the Viennese master tailors: “They are sending a strong signal for design from Vienna at the Vienna Opera Ball. The world of fashion is known for its creative innovation and constant change. In recent years there has been an increasing awareness of sustainability, ethics and social responsibility among consumers and thus also in the fashion industry.”
Vienna winner of the Haute Couture Award
The Viennese master tailor Alexandra Gogolok-Nagl is no stranger. She recently secured first place in the Haute Couture Austria Awards. This award, an initiative of the Federal Fashion and Clothing Technology Guild of the Chamber of Commerce, puts the masterful skills and enormous creativity of local couturiers in the public eye and celebrates the craftsmanship of Austrian tailors. The guild master congratulates the Viennese winner and emphasizes the importance of craftsmanship, tradition, innovative design and professional competence in the fashion world.
Certified Viennese alteration tailors
Choosing the ultimate ball gown can be a real challenge – color, cut, fit – then there’s the financial aspect. Vienna’s alteration tailors are important contacts here: If your dress needs an annual update, you can easily have it repaired at one of Vienna’s numerous alterations tailors. “Thanks to the new certificate as a certified alterations tailor (ZÄS), which was created as proof of quality within the independent tailoring industry, the highest quality is guaranteed,” says guild master of fashion and clothing technology at the Vienna Chamber of Commerce Patrizia Markus.
