A total of 1.36 million euros were invested
St. Pölten (OTS) – The construction work for the redesign and renovation of the Pillichsdorf town thoroughfare along the L 12 state road was recently officially completed. Among other things, the sidewalks were renovated over a length of around 700 meters or, where local conditions permitted, new ones were laid out. With 70 percent funding from the state of Lower Austria, a combined footpath and cycle path with a bridge over the Rußbach and a crossing aid was built on a section (in the area of the intersection of the L 12 and the L 12a) south of the L 12 state road. Organized parking spaces were created for stationary traffic. New contact areas were built in the area of the bus stops.
The roadway on the L 12 state road was renovated at the end of 2023. The roadway was approximately 6.25 meters wide. Finally, around 30 trees were planted in the green areas. Further planting of perennials will take place at the beginning of April. The work was carried out under half-way traffic management with traffic light control over a period of around seven months. The total construction costs amount to around 1,360,000 euros, with around 230,000 euros going to the state of Lower Austria and around 1,130,000 euros to the market town of Pillichsdorf.
