Active through the winter
The mysticism of the gentle winter hills can be particularly enjoyed on the winter hiking trails or on a snowshoe hike. A 200 km long network of cross-country trails offers enough variety for experienced skiers and beginners. The region’s family-friendly ski areas are also ideal for alpine ski beginners, such as the Liebenau sports arena or the Viehberg-Sandl family ski area. The winter landscape of the 1000 kilometer long bridle path network of the Mühlviertler Alm horse kingdom and the Mühlviertler Kernland riding region can be explored in the saddle on horseback or wrapped in a warm blanket on the horse-drawn sleigh.
