Viennese culture, cuisine & handicrafts from May 24th – 26th – Ludwig and Ruck presented a new event
Vienna (OTS/RK) – It is a special kind of premiere: for the first time, the city of Vienna is presenting a festival that puts Vienna itself at the center of the event. With #wienliebe, a three-day event is planned, which will take place for the first time on Vienna’s Rathausplatz from May 24th to 26th, 2024 and will introduce its audience to several elements that make Vienna so livable and lovable. The festival will be opened on May 24th at 2 p.m. by Mayor Michael Ludwig and Vienna Chamber of Commerce President Walter Ruck.
#wienliebe is a celebration from Vienna for Vienna and embodies enjoyment, conviviality and cosiness. For three days, residents and visitors are invited to discover the many joys of life in the federal capital in one place.
The concept of the event is based on three pillars and includes: Viennese culture, Viennese cuisine as well as Viennese arts and crafts & businesses.
While Viennese cuisine, coffee houses, wine taverns and drinking culture are celebrated in culinary terms, culturally there are a number of well-known representatives of Viennese music, but also other program items that are “typically Viennese” to experience. In cooperation with the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, several Viennese companies will present their handicrafts and food producers will present a market with goods from Vienna.
Entry is free for all visitors.
#wienliebe is implemented by the experienced, city-owned event agency stadt wien marketing gmbh, which was founded 25 years ago to make public spaces more attractive for residents but also tourists. First-class cuisine: From the Viennese inn to the town hall square
Six well-known, traditional and long-established restaurateurs will treat visitors to delicious delicacies from Viennese cuisine on all three days: one of them will be the traditional Viennese restaurant To the Black Camelwhich has been welcoming its guests at its Bognergasse location since 1618 and will be offering numerous Viennese classics at Rathausplatz. SarahBernhardt & Vienna Symphony Orchestra opens the event on Friday. On the first day of the event there will be more Viennese Brutthe Viennese chamber music trio around Dudlerin Agnes Palmisano and the contemporary Viennese song and dialect band Idle walk show off their skills with rapper Skero. Wiener Blond & Original Wiener Salonensemble, The Strottern & JazzWerkstatt Vienna as well as Ernst Molden & the women’s orchestra (and a special guest) deliver music that goes straight from the ear to the heart of every Viennese and prove that the Viennese song genre is alive.
Saturday is initially all about the Viennese brass bands. A total of five groups from the federal capital perform for the audience and provide guests with polkas, marches, waltzes and more.
In the evening, all musical fans will get their money’s worth and can look forward to an opulent show with the most beautiful melodies United Theaters Vienna who present a “best of” their productions from the last decades. Arts and crafts, businesses and Viennese agriculture
Often forgotten in the fast-paced everyday life, #wienliebe deliberately wants to offer the capital’s many craftspeople and agricultural businesses a stage to present their work and products to a large audience. In cooperation with the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, exhibitors present themselves at several stands on the town hall square, where visitors can find all sorts of things handmade products find: from jewelry made of various metals to delicate textile work or artfully crafted candles, an impressive range of the skills of Viennese companies is represented in front of the town hall.
In the adjacent town hall park, guests can look through one food market stroll, which includes a selection of vegetables, fruit and meat that are cultivated and processed within the Vienna city area.
