“We defend our cultural identity by all means”
Sankt Pölten (OTS) –

“We are putting our customs, the concept of home, and our cultural identity back in a positive light. Because our values and Christian roots connect us, give us strength and hope, and we will not allow these traditions to be increasingly banned from the public space – be it through a mass immigration of people from a different culture or a small woke minority who follow our customs at the altar who wants to sacrifice indifference,” FPÖ Lower Austria state party secretary Alexander Murlasits made clear at the press conference to launch the “Home Advent Campaign” on Thursday in St. Pölten.

Saint Nicholas and Krampus visits in schools and, above all, the cross in schools and hospitals would be an integral part of our culture. “Also as a strong sign that we will not allow ourselves to be oppressed by the migrant masses, we see ourselves as defenders and protectors of our values,” explained Murlasits and also called for a change to the Lower Austrian compulsory education law. “So that a cross is placed in all schools and not just – as is the case under current law – in compulsory schools where the majority of students are Christian.”

FPÖ Lower Austria regional manager Andreas Arthur Spanring added: “We don’t need an asexual Christ child or a Christmas transsexual figure here in our country, as some parties want.”

After the home autumn of 2023, the home summer before the National Council election, the aim is to end the year in a politically contemplative way with the home Advent. A series of down-to-earth events are planned, such as St. Nicholas celebrations, Krampus runs, chestnut and mulled cider stands, the proceeds of which will be donated to good causes. For the local Advent, the Freedom Party has published its own booklet with the most beautiful Christmas carols and traditional, down-to-earth recipes from Lower Austria.

Regarding the local council elections in January 2025, Murlasits and Spanring said in unison: “We are better positioned in the Northern municipalities than ever before, Styria has shown once again that people want change. And now it’s about working shoulder to shoulder with our compatriots to implement the will for the citizens in the communities. Away from the (citizen) master, towards the citizens.”
