On the L 93 state road (Redtenbacher Straße) in Waidhofen an der Ybbs, roadway renovations and retaining wall renovations were carried out over a length of around one kilometer. The roadway on the L 93 was partially widened and the lines of the road route were improved. At the same time, the entire street drainage system was renewed. The road structure was milled down and rebuilt with a base and surface layer. As part of the road construction work, the four retaining walls in this area with a total length of around 320 meters along the Redtenbach (area kilometer 14.56 to kilometer 15.44) were also built by the Waidhofen an der Ybbs road maintenance department in collaboration with construction and delivery companies from the region renovated or renewed.
“Through this investment, we are not only achieving more traffic safety in the area, but are also making a further contribution to increasing the quality of life in the region,” says LH deputy Udo Landbauer, who also emphasizes: “In many comparable projects that the Lower Austrian road service “The state of Lower Austria is investing 93 million euros in 400 road and bridge construction projects in over 260 municipalities this year.
The project in Waidhofen an der Ybbs was necessary because the road in this area no longer met modern traffic requirements due to the severe damage and crushing. At the same time, various retaining walls located in the construction lot area were renovated or replaced due to signs of wear and tear. This construction work was carried out by the Waidhofen an der Ybbs road maintenance department in collaboration with construction and delivery companies from the region. The total costs of around 520,000 euros will be borne entirely by the state of Lower Austria.
