Comprehensive citizen participation instead of wasting taxpayer money again
Vienna (OTS) – After a proposal at the last district council meeting in Vienna Neubau to build a so-called “wheel house”, the district party leader of the Vienna People’s Party Neubau, Christina Schlosser, made it clear: “Here, once again, an attempt is being made to push through an ideological project over people’s heads. Before we even think about planning such a controversial project like the ‘Radhaus’, people have to be asked whether they actually want it.”
Since the beginning of March, the Vienna People’s Party has launched a comprehensive process “Rethinking the Belt” in which we are surveying citizens throughout Vienna about the belt as a living space: “A holistic approach to the topics of transport, housing, work, leisure and culture is needed – so togetherness. “This is a real and noticeable integration,” continued Schlosser.
The ‘Radhaus’ project should not be implemented like this. It must be integrated into an overall “NEW belt” concept. “We demand transparent decision-making in which the people of Vienna are not only informed but also actively involved in the decision-making process. The use of public funds must be justified and in the best interest of the community,” concluded Schlosser.
