Information about Sanjay Shah
Sanjay Shah’s bootstrap story began after he left Mumbai, India, to attend Lehigh University’s business school, where he earned his MBA in 1989 at the age of 21. He held positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and General Motors before moving to Germany, where he worked for the software giant SAP.
After leaving SAP, he founded Vistex, which has expanded its operations globally over two and a half decades, expanding its portfolio across 15 industries. As a self-made entrepreneur, Shah had a deep-rooted desire to give back. As part of Vistex’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, Shah founded the Vistex Foundationwhich supports nonprofit organizations focused on health, education and basic needs, as well Vistex Endeavoran employee-driven charity that promotes volunteerism within the company.
Because lifelong learning was close to Shah’s heart, he donated $5 million to Lehigh University to establish the Vistex Institute for Executive Learning and Research. In 2020 that became Vistex Hospital in Bihar, India, where the community receives primary and secondary health care. The hospital was also recently recognized as a national model Covid-19 facility.
