Vilimsky: “Andreas Schieder is spreading anti-Serb propaganda again!”
Vienna (OTS) –

“The recent statements by Andreas Schieder (SPÖ) about an alleged attack on Dragan D̵ilas, a Serbian opposition politician, by young people he described as “Vučić thugs” turn out to be pure misinformation. A video shared by Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić clearly shows that D̵ilas himself aggressively approached young people who were simply hanging up posters, insulted them and provoked a physical altercation. Schieder’s claims are therefore refuted and only serve to stir up anti-Serb resentment,” says Harald Vilimsky, head of the liberal delegation in the European Parliament, shocked by Schieder’s anti-Serb stance.

“It is shocking that an SPÖ politician like Schieder is repeatedly defaming Serbia and creating a mood with false information. This deliberate propaganda is a slap in the face for the many Serbs who live in Austria and enrich our society and culture,” continued Vilimsky. “With his false claims, Andreas Schieder once again exposes himself as the spearhead of an anti-Serbian agenda. This behavior is unacceptable and is nothing more than an attempt to discredit Serbia and the Serbian community.”

Vilimsky demands an immediate public apology from Schieder and a clear distancing from his false statements. “Especially in Vienna, where many Serbs make an indispensable contribution to society, such derailments cannot go unanswered,” emphasizes the liberal politician. “Austrians with Serbian roots have the opportunity to clearly reject this disrespect in the coming elections. In any case, the FPÖ is clearly on the side of the Serbian community and will continue to resolutely reject such attacks in the future,” concluded Vilimsky.
