The state party chairman of the Vienna FPÖ, Dominik Nepp, commented on the decision to bring forward the elections to the local council, state parliament and district representation in a press conference today, Friday. Nepp accused the incumbent mayor Michael Ludwig of lying to the population about the election date, contrary to previous assurances. The day before, the city government claimed that it was working well together and wanted to continue working until the end of the legislative period. But Ludwig has now “stopped work” and is “running away from responsibility,” Nepp claimed. Apparently, “in view of record debts and record unemployment, fear” reigns in the SPÖ, said the FPÖ politician. “Mayor Ludwig completely misjudges the mood among the population,” he added.
The non-incumbent city councilor sees his party “well prepared” for the election campaign. In the election, Vienna has the chance to “free itself from an unfair system”. According to Nepp, the FPÖ stands for fairness towards those who support society, as well as for noticeable relief and more security. Nepp promised to take action against crime, an ailing health system and a lack of education. At the same time, he criticized the funding of left-wing projects and called for policies in the interests of the Viennese population. Looking ahead to the 100 days until the election, Nepp said he is looking forward to it. He could also imagine working with anyone who supports the liberal offers. “Our goal is to become so strong that no one can get past the FPÖ,” concluded Nepp. (End) cr
