The Vienna People’s Party today presented its candidates for the 2024 National Council election. With a broad team of experienced politicians and young talents, the future of Austria will be actively shaped. “Our candidates are the best ambassadors for our values: achievement, family and safety. They are ready to resolutely tackle the pressing challenges of our time,” explained state party chairman City Councilor Karl Mahrer.
“We are ready to take responsibility and ensure a secure and stable future for our country.
In the coming weeks we will fight with all our might for a strong and sustainable Vienna and Austria!” said National Councilor Romana Deckenbacher, top candidate of the Vienna People’s Party.
The candidates of the Vienna People’s Party represent diversity and expertise in different areas. “From business to education to security – our team covers all important topics for the people of Vienna. We are ready to take responsibility and continue on the successful path for Austria under the leadership of our Chancellor Karl Nehammer,” emphasized the regional manager of the Vienna People’s Party Peter Sverak.
The candidates at a glance:
1. Romana Deckenbacher – top candidate of the Vienna People’s Party, district party leader of Brigittenau, ÖGB vice president and deputy chairman of the GÖD.
This makes her a strong voice in the National Council for the Public Service and for employees.
2. Nico Marchetti – District Party Chairman Favoriten and top candidate for the Favoriten-Simmering-Meidling constituency. He is particularly committed to security, integration and education.
3. Maria Neumann – Deputy Chairwoman of the Vienna Economic Association and successful entrepreneur. She represents the interests of the Viennese economy in the National Council.
4. Wolfgang Gerstl – constitutional spokesman for the People’s Party and long-time politician. As the top candidate for the Hietzing-Penzing-Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus-Liesing constituency, he advocates for the concerns of the population.
5. Gudrun Kugler – human rights spokeswoman for the People’s Party and district party leader for the Donaustadt. Her focus is on Christian social politics, human rights and family policy.
Andreas Ottenschläger – 11th place on the federal list. Member of the National Council and spokesman for transport and infrastructure. As the top candidate for the North-West constituency, he is particularly committed to mobility, business and housing.
6. Norbert Walter – President of the Vienna Chamber of Agriculture and winery operator in Stammersdorf. He is the voice of Vienna’s urban agriculture and advocates for security of supply.
7. Maria Feichtinger-Kos – Committed representative of senior citizens in Austria. She fights alongside the senior citizens’ association for fairness towards the older generation.
8. Rudolf Taschner – Professor at the Vienna University of Technology and education spokesman for the People’s Party. He is committed to making education accessible to everyone.
9. Stephanie Ernst – entrepreneur and chairwoman of the Viennese vehicle trade. She brings economic competence and entrepreneurial vision to the Vienna People’s Party.
10. Ivo Radwan – The youngest candidate on the list. With his experience in school and student representation, he brings a breath of fresh air into the party and is a strong mouthpiece for young people.
