The week after Easter there is two very important Buddhist events to Vienna. The “European Buddhist Union” (EBU) celebrates its 50th anniversary with the conference “Buddhism 2075” and the maintenance of its annual conference in Vienna (24 to 29.4.2025).
The subject of this conference is above all the future of the development of Buddhism in Europe, in the light of increasing challenges and with increased involvement of youth.
At the same time, in cooperation with the ÖBR, at the Institute for South Asia, Tibet and Buddhismus (ISTB), a symposium with the title: “What/Who Meditates?- The Mind in Neuroscience, Buddhist Thought, and Western Philosophy” instead (24 to April 30).
ÖBR President Gerhard Weißgrab: “Both events are great inspection providers for the development of Buddha apprenticeship in Austria and Europe, and through our cooperation also for the whole world.”
