The ORF regional studio in Vienna, ORF.at and TELETEXT once again make the VCM a major multimedia event. The Ö3 traffic editorial team provides a precise overview of the road closures and the situation on the alternative routes.

From 8.30 a.m. on ORF 1, the ORF team led by presenter Oliver Polzer will report from the start and finish area in front of the Burgtheater. After the live broadcast from 8:55 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (commentator is Dietmar Wolff, co-commentator is two-time Olympic marathon starter Michael Buchleitner), ORF 1 will show the highlights of the “Inclusion Run” on April 20th at 12:30 p.m. OSP will show the finish arrivals of amateur runners live from 12.40 p.m.

For the first time, a drone camera will be used in the start and finish areas.

The VCM in the ORF regional studio in Vienna

The news magazine “Vienna Today” at 7 p.m. on ORF 2 W has been reporting on the preparations for the Vienna City Marathon since the previous week and is approaching the marathon event from different perspectives. “Vienna Today” accompanies a runner who is running his first marathon and one who has taken part in every Vienna City Marathon since the beginning. And portrays a couple who not only met through marathon running, but for whom the run also has a therapeutic effect because the man suffers from multiple sclerosis and running, as he himself says, “keeps him alive”. “Vienna Today” will also accompany all four on the marathon day itself. Background reports, live reports and analyzes round off the comprehensive reporting in “Vienna Today”.

Radio Vienna offers reports from runners and enthusiastic viewers. The popular Radio Vienna program “Die 2 um 2” with Robert Steiner and Rolf Rüdiger will take place again on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. live on the main stage at Vienna’s Rathausplatz. From 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. there will be Radio Vienna hits with DJ Alex List on the stage at Vienna’s Rathausplatz. Furthermore, Radio Wien am Sonntag provides comprehensive information on both traffic and weather information: The marathon route runs right through Vienna. Many roads and bridges will be closed from the morning hours onwards, tram and bus routes will have to be shortened or rerouted. Radio Wien and wien.ORF.at provide information about route sales and road closures. The best pictures will be found on wien.ORF.at. And last but not least, the VCM is also reported on on ORF Vienna’s social media channels.
