“Save the Alps” from Spittal an der Drau must transfer €4,580.90 in legal costs and €330 + 4% interest to the VGT since November 2022
It is unbearable how the rule of law is immediately undermined when it comes to animals. This verdict against an anti-wolf club at least provides a certain counterpoint.
GDR. Martin Balluch, VGT chairman
Vienna (OTS) – The “Save the Alps” association was founded in July 2022 in Spittal an der Drau. The goal appears to have been to bring the wolf back to extinction. So people spoke about the Ministry of Large Carnivores when they talked about the Ministry of the Environment and only found negative words about the wolf, whose species was supposedly not threatened, even though only a few individuals were present in Austria. This association unabashedly and without asking adopted the VGT’s data protection declaration, obviously in order to save the costs of creating it. The VGT sued for damages and was now right. However, the extent of the damage was drastically reduced by the Klagenfurt regional court to €330, which is why the VGT is only entitled to ¾ of the legal costs, which still amounts to €4,580.90. After the VGT filed the lawsuit at the end of 2022, things became noticeably quiet about “Save the Alps”. Attempts were made to collect donations to cover the costs. Its activity on the website finally ended in spring 2023. Now, in April 2024, the verdict was issued.
VGT chairman DDr. Martin Balluch says: “It takes a fair amount of audacity to simply steal the political opponent – the VGT – his expensive intellectual creation. In sensible associations that actually work for good in the public interest on a non-profit basis, they would have We turned a blind eye to it. But this association only wants to harm nature, destroy a species and thereby endanger ecosystems Rush against the wolf is absolutely unbearable, especially in Carinthia, where it is now being taken to the extreme by the state government in the person of State Councilor Martin Gruber, ÖVP. His absolutely illegal wolf regulation, which clearly contradicts both EU law and the constitution, has led to one Advertisement We have conducted this for abuse of office and will have further consequences. It is unbearable how the rule of law is immediately undermined when it comes to animals. This verdict against an anti-wolf club at least provides a certain counterpoint.
