The full column floor was prohibited, the ÖVP and the pig industry said. In the law, however, there is only a ban on the so -called “unstructured” full column floor. What its “structured” counterpart is in the associated regulation is explained: on a third of the floor area, only half of the columns, referred to euphemistically as a “lying area”. Without straw, without being able to escape the stench, with stone -like concrete floor with sharp -edged columns. In this action, the VGT wants to demonstrate how easily a “structured” full column floor becomes new from the old “unstructured” full column floor. The conclusion: The difference is ridiculous and not noticeable for the pigs.
