The semester break invite children and families to a variety of exciting, creative and interactive offers throughout Lower Austria. Whether artistic workshops, castle adventures or theater experiences – there is a suitable activity for every age group.

From 1st to 9th February 2025, the children’s art laboratory in St. Pölten opens its doors for artistic workshops and tours for the current exhibition Dream.lab. Families can become creative together and discover new things.
Also from February 1 to 9, 2025, the Museum Lower Austria is open and offers free admission for children and adolescents up to 18 years, daily family tours at 2:00 p.m., creative stations with handicrafts from snowman winds to animal savings boxes and the museum academy for Kids (from 4 to 7 February) with workshops on natural and history issues.
In Baden, the museum’s art status is transformed into a creative workshop with exciting offers such as the aquarist workshop, where Kids can design a mini aquarium on February 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In addition, on the program the ceramic workshop under the motto “Kneading, rolling, designing” on February 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the painting workshop “Surrealistism on canvas” on February 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. .
Hof Hof invites you to varied experiences: A creative studio (daily from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) and interactive family and fairy tale tours (February 2) promise exciting discoveries. In addition, there is a baroque disguise workshop (February 7, 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.) and castle tours for adults (daily at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.). In the children’s and family world in the Bäckenhof, creative workshops provide craftsmanship: porcelain painting (February 3), chocolate workshops (4th and 8th February), glass design (February 5) and pottery (February 6th and 7th ).
Theater lovers also get their money’s worth during the semester break. Various stages offer a varied program for young audiences:
The Möp Figure Theater in Mödling presents the Kasperlabenteuer “Fezugauber” for the very smallest (31 January and 1st, 8th and 9th February).
Mimis Sunday shows “The Bremen Town Musicians” in Mistelbach, a puppet theater for the whole family (February 2).
In German-Wagram, young spectators are offered a marionet theater with “Dragon Funki and the Krapfenstreich”, a fairy tale with lovingly designed figures (February 7).
The Marionettentheater “Trauminsel” in Korneuburg brings the grim tale “Little Red Riding Hood” to the stage (February 7 and 9).
In St. Pölten, the Lower Austria Landestheater delights with the play “Ronja Robber’s Daughter” by Astrid Lindgren, a classic for the whole family (February 8).
The colorful show “Peppa Wutz Live!” In the Vaz St. Pölten, especially for the very young audience, provides entertainment with music and dance (February 7).
In addition, there are exciting hearing tours through Lower Austria – moderated by Sophie Berger and Robert Steiner – ideal for pajama days or long car journeys during the holidays.
