Thanks to the support of the population, the “GAZA list – votes against genocide” is on the ballot for the National Council election in six other federal states as well as in Upper Austria. The people of Upper Austria have proven with their declarations of support that they do not want Austrian support for the genocide – our state and federal candidates are now introducing themselves. “It is shameful that Austria does not maintain its neutrality, sides with Israel and does not actively advocate for a ceasefire,” says candidate Hafsa Zaki, justifying the need to run for List GAZA. Igor Böhm from Freistadt adds: “I am concerned about the behavior of the Austrian government around the attempt to restrict freedom of expression and freedom of assembly.” It is time for a “defense of basic social and democratic rights”. The candidate for the Traunviertel, Martin Weinberger, explains the goal of the GAZA list: “We are a list and not a party, we are a protest action for a fundamental change of course in Austrian politics, away from support for genocide, towards neutrality and peace through justice.” And the candidate on the federal list, Wilhelm Langthaler, explains: “We throw down the gauntlet to the increasingly authoritarian elites who want to entangle us in war and genocide. Not with us.”
