Up to 1.562 million watched the Vienna Opera Ball 2024 on ORF 2

57 percent market share at the opening, up to 74 percent market share in the target group 12-29 years, reach record via 3sat in Germany

Vienna (OTS) There was an opera ball evening for everyone yesterday, February 8, 2024, on ORF 2! The Ball of Balls was once again a crowd puller on ORF TV: Up to 1.562 million viewers did not want to miss the ORF 2 live broadcast of the Vienna Opera Ball: “Vienna Opera Ball 2024 – Everything Dances” at 8:15 p.m. watched on average 1.111 million with a market share of 39 percent. “The Arrival of the Guests” and their entry via the festival stairs at 9:10 p.m. has already attracted an average of 1.311 million people to the screens with a market share of 44 percent. An average of 1.473 million viewers saw “The Opening” at 9:45 p.m. with a market share of 57 percent (74 percent market share in the target group 12-29!). “The Festival”, which was shown after “ZIB 2”, was watched by an average of 765,000 viewers with a market share of 54 percent. A total of 2.617 million viewers or 35 percent of the Austrian TV population aged 12 and over (widest circle of viewers) attended the Opera Ball evening on ORF 2, ORF III and via 3sat in Austria.

Yesterday’s ORF Opera Ball broadcast via 3sat in Germany achieved a record: with an average of 930,000 viewers over the entire duration (peak value just under 1.6 million) at five percent MA, an all-time Opera Ball record was set.

And today, on February 9th, the day after the event, the ORF is dedicating numerous reports and programs to the ball of the year with all the highlights of the previous ball night.
