University staff: 3.8% more wages
Vienna (OTS) –

With adjustments to the collective agreement for employees at state universities, the inflation-related salaries will increase by 3.8% from February 1, 2025. In nominal terms, this corresponds to the value of rolling inflation calculated for 2025. A minimum amount of 100 euros ensures that the low salary levels in general staff (administrative staff) are even higher in percentage terms. In addition, fundamental improvements were achieved in salary schemes for both scientific/artistic and general staff. For salary scheme B 1, which applies to employees other than the schemes for professors and associated professors, a new additional salary level at the end of the period of service will be introduced with effect from January 1, 2025. A specially formulated sideletter ensures that further improvements to this salary scheme will be negotiated over the course of 2025.

For university staff according to the old service law, the public service salary of 3.5%, at least 82.40 euros, a maximum of 437.80 euros from January 1, 2025, as well as the agreement that the valorization in 2026 by 0.3% applies must be equal to the calculated (rolling) inflation.

The ULV welcomes the fact that the salary adjustment for employees based on the university collective agreement is this time slightly higher than the level for the public service, but expects that the future salary adjustments will also become effective for these employees on January 1st of each year and thus by one month is brought forward.
