Vienna (OTS) – 1491. The Florentine banker Amerigo Vespucci is
sent to Seville in the service of the powerful Medici clan. From
Spanish sailors set off into the world there, financed, among other things
from the Medici. Here Vespucci met Christopher Columbus
will go down in history as the “discoverer” of America. While
Columbus still believes he has found the western route to India
Vespucci is clear: there is a new, previously unknown one in the west
Continent. In 1502 he published the travel report “Mundus Novus –
New World”, which becomes a bestseller. And the new continent will be
