Vienna (OTS) – On the occasion of the second anniversary of the war in Ukraine, Austrian and Ukrainian pop acts will play a concert for NACHBAR IN NOT in the Wiener Stadthalle on February 21, 2024. In the spirit of solidarity, Thorsteinn Einarsson, King & Potter, Ina Regen, Alleehrung and Anna-Sophie will perform from Austria, as well as Jamala, Zlata Ognevich and Tina Karol from Ukraine. Austria and Ukraine also share the moderation in the form of Lukas Schweighofer and Daryna Tregubova. ORF 1 will show the highlights of this special concert evening on Friday, February 23rd, at 10:50 p.m. “United for Ukraine – The solidarity concert from the Vienna Stadthalle” is a production by ORF in collaboration with the association “All for Ukraine – Help for Ukraine”.
The ORF has been supporting “NEIGHBOR IN NOT – Help for Ukraine” since the start of the aid campaign in all of its media – television, radio, ORF.at, TELETEXT as well as in all nine state studios – and is drawing attention to the fundraising campaign, including as part of the Benefit concert “United for Ukraine” in the Wiener Stadthalle and as part of the broadcast on ORF 1. NEIGHBOR IN NOTHING was launched more than 32 years ago by ORF – together with Caritas and the Red Cross – to help the suffering population in the former Yugoslavia to help. In addition to the donor organizations, the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, CARE, Diakonie, Hilfewerk International, Malteser Hospitaldienst and Volkshilfe are now providing assistance in humanitarian crises as cooperation partners – as has been the case in Ukraine for two years. Misery, suffering and destruction are part of people’s everyday lives there; many don’t know how to survive the long winter. The humanitarian situation is catastrophic and there is no improvement in sight. The Austrians’ willingness to help was overwhelming from the start, but the people of Ukraine still urgently need support. NEIGHBOR IN NEED continues to ask for donations!
