“Protect children, support women” and “Vienna is pro-life” – with these messages over 2,000 pro-life activists marched through Vienna on Saturday. Among the participants were the ÖVP politicians Jan Ledochowski and Caroline Hungerländer, as well as Bishop Franz Scharl and Bishop Klaus Küng.
“Every person has a right to life. Unborn Lives Matter. We took this message to the streets today,” said Felicitas Trachta, chairman of the “March for Life” association.
Before the march, left-wing extremist activists stole a banner from St. Charles Church and the night before the Right to Life demonstration, criminals destroyed the stage set aside for the March for Life the next day. Damage of up to Ꞓ 100,000 was caused. The Green Party politicians Meri Diskosi and Veronika Spielmann called for the violent counter-protest. In the graphic that called for protest, a huge activist with an ice pick can be seen threatening a small pro-life activist. Green MEP Lena Schilling could be seen protesting on site.
