Udo Jürgens, with a bourgeois name Jürgen Udo Bockelmann, was born in Klagenfurt in 1934 and was one of the most successful solo artists in German -speaking countries under his stage name. With over 1,000 composed songs, more than 100 million records sold, winning the Eurovision Song Contest 1966, extensive tours and numerous television appearances, he shaped the music world for decades.
