“The request for committee, which the FPÖ put on the table, is based solely on conspiracy theories. The confused object of investigation extends from the tragic death of Christian Pilnacek to Corona theme. The freedom is written in its family book: The object of the investigation must have a certain, completed process of the full education of the federal government,” emphasizes ÖVP-member Andreas Hanger in the course of the short debate on the request of the FPÖ for the establishment of an investigation committee. Obviously, this type of topic is due to the violent internal discussions of the FPÖ – “Maybe you should think about it again in the Freedom Club”. The People’s Party, according to Hanger, will now examine the desire – this task will also be available to the Procedure Committee.
It is clear – and the ÖVP is very clear that parliamentary control mechanisms are essential instruments of the federal constitution. “The parliamentary right to control the government or the parliamentary request are important and correct as well as the right of the opposition. But if, like the FPÖ, like the FPÖ, in a single day 827 parliamentary inquiries, the question also arises as to how carefully or seriously deals with the freedom with these control rights,” emphasizes Hanger. The desire for the establishment of a U-committee is also the right of the FPÖ, “but this desire could also have been contributed to tomorrow’s regular National Council meeting”.
In conclusion, Hanger says: “The fact that the object of the investigation was ready in the media yesterday, but the parliament was not informed about it, fits into the picture. In any case, we will do serious work in the committee of inquiry and invite all those who are interested in proper information. (Ending)
