Höpperger’s disposal educational trail inspires students
Tyrol/Pfaffenhofen (OTS) – Since its opening in 2023, Höpperger Umweltschutz’s disposal nature trail has developed into a popular destination for school classes from all over Tyrol. In total, more than 600 children have already taken part in this educational initiative.
The educational project “Höppi – the recycling professionals of tomorrow”, which was launched in 2018 by the Tyrolean waste disposal company Höpperger, has continued to develop. The digital “story of HÖPPI”, a young ibex who discovers his interest in environmental protection, is told by Tyrolean actress Lisa Hörtnagl. This story forms the basis for the waste disposal educational trail.
The educational trail in the Höpperger Resource Park in Pfaffenhofen includes five interactive puzzle boards and eleven playfully designed waste containers. The mascot “HÖPPI” guides the children digitally through the history of recycling and conveys interesting facts about the topic of waste. “It is very important to us to educate future generations about the importance of proper waste disposal. Children should be the environmental police for us adults and educate at home

The students, equipped with high-visibility vests, walk from container to container and solve various puzzles in teams of two, accompanied by recycling experts and teachers. They answer questions about proper waste separation, recycling and how to avoid waste in the household. After the last station, the children are rewarded with environmental certificates and a small refreshment by Höpperger and the mascot “HÖPPI”.
