Vienna (OTS) – Whether Instagram, Facebook or TikTok: Social media has a lasting influence on social life. While digitalization is advancing rapidly around the world, time seems to have stood still behind monastery gates in many areas. The ORF Vorarlberg TV documentary shows how the monks of the Mehrerau monastery in Bregenz and the monastery women of the Cistercian abbey of Mariastern-Gwiggen in Hohenweiler try to find a way to deal with increasingly rapid digital developments in their everyday lives, which are characterized by work and prayer.
“Work, prayer and social media – about monastic life in a digital world” can be seen on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. in the series “Austria Experience on Sunday” on ORF 2.
