TV documentary from ORF Vorarlberg: “40 years of Lake Constance Cycle Path − Central Europe’s most famous cycle route”

On Whit Monday, May 20, 2024, at 6:25 p.m. on ORF 2

Vienna (OTS) The Lake Constance cycle path is the busiest cycle path in Europe and has been for 40 years. The 265 kilometer long route leads around the entire Lake Constance including Untersee and Überlinger See. On the smallest state route, the one in Vorarlberg, it is particularly easy to see how bicycles and thus the routes have changed over the past few decades. Narrow paths – previously not even asphalted – became LED-illuminated “cycle highways”. In the ORF Vorarlberg TV documentary, the designers Stefan Krobath and Roman Neugebauer show three different ways to circumnavigate Lake Constance: with an extreme athlete who completed the 220 kilometers in ten hours in the cycling marathon, with a group of pensioners for whom the circumnavigation becomes a cultural event, and with a family with two children for whom the route is a complete adventure.
