Kabbeligen water: only breathe pleasantly in one direction

Ui, Ui, Ui, I hadn’t imagined it. The Baltic Sea on Göhrens Nordstrand is cubble on this Monday: fresh wind from northern northeast, the waves break on the sandbars at short intervals. I crawl a bit behind it in parallel to the bank. Vacation time is training time!
It is my first sea swimming this year. And immediately so unpleasant conditions: Again and again the current pulls me to the shore, the waves spill over me again and again. It’s a good thing that I am now a reasonably experienced swimmer. Two or three sip of salt water in between cannot spoil the two breathing. I stoically bring air to the right, towards the bank. And think of September 14th, my triathlon debut. Hopefully there is not such a waves!
I crawl, also because I want to try out my miracle swimming glasses in the sea for the first time. »Form Smart Swim Pro 2«, That is the name of a good 300 euro piece, which is supposed to make a better swimmer with augmented reality: Inside the right glass, all kinds of real -time data in yellow pixels are displayed during training or competition: Tempo, distance, swimming time, trains per minute and even the pulse strike, which is measured via a sensor in the glasses frame on my temple. The app later shows me detailed evaluations.
The mold glasses worked well in the swimming pool. I loaded the training program of my coach onto the glasses via Bluetooth and fought my unit. All intervals and recreation breaks were displayed. The premium service is also included in the first month, which otherwise costs 120 euros a year. So you can even improve your swimming style: for me, the glasses immediately noticed that I was lifting my head too far. If I now activate “Peak Head Roll”, I see in a kind of line graphic how much my head sinks and lifts and which line it should not exceed. The less deviation, the better. I swim more efficiently when I pay attention to it.
Trial training

ND editor Jirka Grahl tries something new, at the start of triathlon. 1500 m swimming, 43 km bike, 10 km run. On September 14th. is a competition premiere: at Fehmarn triathlon.
Today on the windy Rügen coast, however, the glasses are supposed to afford again – with “Swim Straight”, a kind of navigation in the glasses. Since the “straight swimming” switched on, a compass ring has been going on on the display: I have previously directed it to a pillar of the pier Göhren – exactly to 130 degrees – and have been steadfast in the direction that the compass indicates me. The glasses require all eight swimming trains to lift my head and check whether the course is right. Works!
In fact, despite all the waves, I am now reaching the pillar that I had targeted at the beginning. Everything as planned – only that I originally wanted to turn around and swim back the whole route. Instead, I now get out of the surf and run back to my ceiling on the beach. Today is cheated by one kilometer. The glasses show me the way, the sea shows me the limits. I have enough salt water.
The test glasses were made available by the manufacturer.
