LR Teschl-Hofmeister: Practical training tailored to the teaching needs of the trainees
St. Pölten (OTS) – The Lower Austrian clinics and care, support and support centers not only offer jobs close to home with numerous offers for their employees, but also focus on training young people.
“In the Lower Austrian care and support centers, the training is practical and tailored to the respective learning needs of the trainees. Apprenticeships in administration as well as in the kitchen are possible. We are very happy when someone decides to do an apprenticeship in one of the care and support centers in Lower Austria and thus makes a valuable contribution to the health and care system,” said the responsible regional councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister.
A total of 28,000 employees work in the Lower Austrian State Health Agency – making the LGA one of the largest employers in the state of Lower Austria and also offers apprentices diverse training in a future-proof environment. With tailor-made training programs, the care centers offer young people well-founded and practical training in a future-proof professional field. There are currently 64 apprentices working in the care centers – in 2022 there were 45 apprentices and interest remains high. The apprenticeship to become a cook is particularly popular, with currently 49 apprentices in the Lower Austrian care and support centers.
In order to further increase the attractiveness of apprenticeship training, the Lower Austrian care centers offer a variety of additional benefits during the training period: These include, among other things, a subsidy for the return journey to the place of work (in the amount of the top youth ticket), a paid lunch break and discounted lunch. Apprentices who complete their training with distinction also receive a bonus of 100 euros for passing the final apprenticeship examination, or 200 euros for excellent success. “Those interested are welcome to find out more online or directly from the Lower Austrian clinics or nursing and care centers. Currently there is PBZ Wr. Neustadt has three apprentices – one of whom is 17-year-old Max Kovacs from Zillingdorf, who is currently completing an apprenticeship as a chef there. “I can really learn a lot from our kitchen manager and the menu plans are also very varied. I personally think the regular working hours are very good and I particularly like the collegial working atmosphere and the friendly tone among each other. I really like it,” says Max Kovacs, who lives only 15 minutes from his place of work.
In addition to an apprenticeship as a cook, the Lower Austrian care centers also offer apprenticeships as a catering specialist, office clerk and administrative assistant.
