Tour de France – Youtuber Amy Hudson: Influencer on wheels

They are numbers where the thighs cramp when reading. Tadej Pogačar and Ko. sit on the bike on this year’s tour of France. For Amy Hudson, the total length of the Tour de France means something different: half -time. The 28-year-old Englishman also leaves all tour stages these days. However, unlike the professionals, Hudson also completes all transfer routes in between by bike. The crazy numbers: 6559 kilometers in 30 days, an average of 218 kilometers per day, two rest and over 71,000 meters of altitude.

What sounds like a mix of self -flait and near -death experience for most people is a life -affirming project for the nurse from Derby. “There was a time when I didn’t want to be there anymore and my bike is one of the main reasons why I am still,” Hudson wrote at the start of her adventure on Instagram. In 2021 she experienced a mental breakdown in pandemic. The first thing really helped was the wheel that she received from her husband Kyle.

Since then Hudson has been driving-and films for her successful YouTube channel “Amy Cycling Adventures”, with which she advertises mental health and collects money for British telephone pastoral care. In return, Hudson can currently be viewed every day as she swings on the bike in the early morning darkness, sometimes breaks out in tears before the tourmalet, escaped at the climb and eats Croissant happily after her stages. She wants to be in Paris on Saturday – one day before the “small” tour of the professionals.
