Was: Animal rights activists are calling for the release of Paul Watson
Paul Watson is co-founder of Greenpeace, founding father of Sea Shepherd and founded the Paul Watson Foundation in 2022. In these roles, he has worked to protect the oceans and especially marine mammals for almost 50 years. And without a doubt, very uncompromisingly. His years-long conflict with the Japanese whaling fleet led to his arrest in Greenland on July 21, 2024, on an international arrest warrant issued by Japan. The whaling state is now demanding his extradition and threatening a life sentence. The Ministry of Justice of Denmark, to which Greenland belongs, wants to decide on this by September 5th. That’s why animal rights activists all over the world are protesting against the arrest of Paul Watson and calling for his release. Now also in Vienna in front of the Danish Embassy.

Protecting the oceans is vital for humanity – the arrest and threatened extradition of Paul Watson to Japan with a potential life sentence is a scandal!
