Basic child security was demanded by seven parties in the National Council election campaign. The introduction of basic child protection must be a central topic in the explorations and government negotiations. This is what Volkshilfe and Kinderfreunde are committed to.
Every fifth child in Austria is affected by poverty or exclusion. With basic child welfare, child poverty in Austria can be halved by 2030. This not only makes sense from a human point of view, but also from an economic point of view. It saves enormously high follow-up costs.
