The first ÖWA quarterly measurement after merging the print and online editorial departments shows Today.at as the most read online newspaper.
Vienna (OTS) – In October has “Today” switched to a modern “online first” editorial team. The reach data for the fourth quarter (October-December) is now available.
These new figures from the Austrian Web Analysis (ÖWA) prove the impressive success story: with an average of 3.49 million readers Heute.at In Q4 it was by far the most read online newspaper in Austria and has increased again compared to Q3. The lead over the next competitor “Der Standard” is already well over half a million readers.
“It was absolutely the right decision to go online first – the future of media lies in digital.”
says “Today”-Editor Dr. Eva Dichand. She promises a large-scale market offensive: “We will continue to grow at great speed and expand our market leadership.”
A paradigm shift is imminent on the online media market in 2024: According to the industry medium “Horizon” receives the public service offer ORF.at ÖWA numbers are no longer reported for the time being, as the new data protection guidelines regarding ÖWA cookies are not implemented in accordance with the statutes.
Heute.at will of course continue to provide all of the company’s advertising partners with the values collected by independent web analysis as a basis for their marketing activities. Head of Marketing Mag. Alexander Leitner (CCO Goldbach Austria): “Over the entire year of 2023 Heute.at reaches over 50 percent of domestic Internet users every month. Heute.at Booking means booking range. We offer our customers the opportunity to present their messages with wide reach and in a targeted manner throughout Austria.”
