Today, interested parties can find out about the fire brigade in Lower Austria at KAT25, the performance show of the Lower Austrian fire brigades and their partner organizations. At the opening, Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker, LH deputy and many other guests of honor emphasized the importance of domestic fire brigades and expressed thanks for their commitment.
“If you look around on this area and see the emergency vehicles and special equipment, it is impressive,” said Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and underlined: “But the people who use these equipment are much more impressive. You need a lot of knowledge, great willingness to work and it has to be practiced so that everything works well in an emergency. Our volunteers invest a lot of time. Fire brigades would not be what it is: a strong and solidary country.
With regard to the current performance show of the fire brigades, the governor recalled that the KAT should have taken place in the previous year, but was canceled due to the flood: “Last year, the performance show took place at this time throughout the state. For us, it was moments that are always remembered.” In conclusion, Mikl-Leitner said that she wishes the fire brigade that “the success story will continue and that you come home well after all your missions. You are ambassadors across the country, in Austria and all over Europe.”
Chancellor Christian Stocker also thanked for the use of the volunteers and spoke of a “moving moment” when Lower Austrian firefighters supported the forest fire in Montenegro: “The image that Austria received there, and the reputation that the fire brigade has received in Montenegro goes far beyond a lot. I would like to thank everyone who was done.
LH deputy Stephan Pernkopf looked back at the flood disaster in the previous year at the beginning of his explanations: “I can remember every second. There were moving moments, especially when the comrades from the other federal states came up with support, it was an incredible thrust for our comrades.” He said a “big thank you for the great willingness to commit to the firefighters and firefighters, because every seven minutes is moving out a fire brigade in Lower Austria. Today’s heroes are not some internet stars, but real heroes wear fire uniform.”
State fire brigade commander Dietmar Fahrafellner described today’s KAT25 as a “special event, in which the entire security family of Lower Austria and all of their clout can be seen here in Tulln.” In addition, he thanked all volunteers who enable this event. In the course of the opening, honors were handed over to firefighters who supported the forest fire in Montenegro and Greece. Freissener: “What you have made in Montenegro in the recent use of the forest fire in Montenegro is impressive. This is unique in Austria and in Europe.”
