Those who stand for honesty also stand by their own mistakes
Vienna (OTS) –

“Anyone who stands for honesty also stands for a mistake – if they have committed it. But that’s not what the Neos do. Instead, they try to talk themselves out with legal pointednesses and refer to any sub -page of their website. The fact is: information about the origin of data must be done directly in the letter itself – and do not have to be buried somewhere on a homepage,” says Peter Sverak, State Managing Director of Wiener Volksartei, unmistakably clear.

According to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data subject must be informed immediately and transparently about which source their personal data comes from-namely when contacting the first, especially in the event of postal advertising. “This obligation cannot be avoided by a link to a website. Clear information is needed directly in the letter. And that is exactly what is missing from the Neos,” Sverak continues.

“All other election parties in Vienna who work with the voters do it right. Only the NEOS believe that they can override applicable law. This has a system – and we don’t see that for the first time,” emphasizes Sverak.

One thing shows that the NEOS are now trying to justify their approach in the third press release: the nervousness. “The question that many Viennese arises is justified: Where did the NEOs get my data from? Why do I get this letter? And why does the data come from where? Whoever postered honesty and transparency does not have to answer exactly these questions.”

“We as a people’s party live transparency – and we know the law. Those who do not do this or cannot afford a good consultant should not raise the moral index finger. And certainly not make an election campaign with principles that you do not comply with. At some point the thread of patience tears,” said Sverak in conclusion.
