Vice Mayor and Housing Councilor Kathrin Gaál recommends the online Advent calendar to all Viennese: “The stories from the wohnpartner Advent calendar are taken from real life and are intended to accompany you through the Advent season. They are stories that remind us of how valuable friendship, cohesion and respectful interaction are. This helping each other and being there for each other often begins right on the doorstep, on the stairs or in the community building yard.
A functioning household community is another piece of the puzzle that contributes to the high quality of life in Vienna. Especially in challenging times of uncertainty, solidarity is the key to stability and warmth. All Viennese are warmly invited to be inspired by the 24 stories during this special time of year. They are stories about everyday heroes who work day in and day out for a good neighborhood and fill it with life. “
Solidarity as a valuable good
From December 1st, the virtual Advent calendar from the neighborhood service wohnpartner will once again open a door on the website every day wohnpartner-wien.at. The focus is on real stories from Viennese community building, which, in the spirit of Advent, focus on the positive and unifying. Thanks to wohnpartner’s neighborly initiatives, close friendships are repeatedly formed between tenants, which endure even in challenging times and overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
The stories from the community building are rounded off by recipes, craft ideas, competitions and highlights from the wohnpartner activities of 2024.
Getting together in the run-up to Christmas
But Advent is not just about immersing yourself in virtual stories, it should also provide space for personal exchange. That’s why wohnpartner organizes events all over Vienna that allow people to get together over non-alcoholic punch and Christmas cookies without any obligation to consume. During these pre-Christmas activities, the neighborhood can get to know each other, network and exchange ideas, so loneliness and isolation don’t stand a chance.
wohnpartner division manager Claudia Huemer cordially invites you to a personal exchange: “With the Advent dates, we would like to give all Viennese the opportunity to get to know the neighborhood better, to start a conversation and to get support if things are not going well in the household running. With free non-alcoholic punch and chestnuts or Christmas biscuits, we create a pre-Christmas atmosphere in which exchange and encounters are very important.”
All dates can always be found updated online at wohnpartner-wien.at/aktuelles/kalender
